Dale

Dale Haddon is the HR Director for BBC News Group, the largest broadcast news operation in the world. The division’s workforce produces output across Network News, English Regions and the World Service Group. Dale joined the BBC in June 2015 and is responsible for developing and deploying the HR strategy for News Division, as well as delivering a full range of HR activities and services to support it.

Prior to joining the BBC, Dale worked for Royal Mail where he joined as a graduate in the late 1980s, having first becoming a qualified HR professional. Throughout his time with Royal Mail, Dale’s career path took him from HR Director for Parcelforce to Royal Mail Group Talent Director, culminating as Group Deputy HR Director in October 2010. In this role, Dale was accountable for group-wide HR strategy, engagement, L&D and employee and industrial relations across Royal Mail Group; including Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide and Post Office Limited.  Dale was also responsible for leading the culture change required for the successful privatisation of a £9.5bn group of companies.

Dale is an experienced HR Leader with expertise in developing strategy, leading major change and engaging people, resulting in an improved business performance in tough, complex environments. Dale has led multi-million pound change programmes and is a highly skilled employee relations negotiator.
